Amateur Woodworker is the only magazine that is aimed at amateur, not professional, woodworkers. They offer an archive of easy-to-build woodworking plans. Two new projects are featured each month. Each project includes plans as well as a detailed description of how to construct the item.
If you’re new to woodworking, you should take a look at some of their projects. I’ve compiled a list of plans for practical furniture: shelving, a CD cabinet, a quilt rack, a storage chest, picture frames and more. Most should be fairly easy to build, even for first-timers. The plans are also linked to the online magazine, so you can get a lot more free information to help with your new hobby.
